The Women in Law Committee of the Gloucester County Bar Association is offering a $1000 scholarship to a deserving female senior who plans to pursue higher education in a field involving law. Knights of Columbus Council 6890 have developed a $1,000 scholarship for the school year 2013-2014 to be awarded to any high school graduate with a 2.5 grade average or above who has demonstrated outstanding achievements in their school, church, and community and who will be attending a four-year accredited college or university or a vocation/trade school. UTILITIES SCHOLARSHIPS:

Each year, NJUA awards the NJUA Excellence in Diversity Scholarship to qualified and deserving New Jersey high school seniors who meet the eligibility criteria. In 2013, the Association will award one (1) four year scholarships providing $1,500 per academic year to the students selected by our NJUA Scholarship Committee. The complete scholarship application, as well as requirements for eligibility and additional information is available here.

In 2013, NJUA is awarding the NJUA Trade and Vocational School Scholarship to a qualified student who will be pursuing a Trade or Vocational degree at an accredited school. The scholarship is valued at up to a total of $6,000 depending on the total cost of the program to be applied to tuition only. Awards will be paid to the recipient’s school in equal installments over the course of the program at the beginning of each semester (fall/spring semester, etc.) upon presentation of satisfactory proof of enrollment for that semester. The James R. Leva Scholarship is sponsored by NJUA to assist NJUA member company employees who are employed in New Jersey or a member of their family in pursuing their higher education goals. The scholarship is named for James R. Leva, Jersey Central Power and Light executive and NJUA President from 1990-1991, whose professional achievements can serve as a model for those who seek to advance themselves professionally through continuing education.

The Dunkin’ Donuts Philadelphia Regional Scholarship Program is currently being offered to high school seniors living in many of the counties around Philadelphia (in New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania). This program will award up to 25 scholarships of $1,000. Although Dunkin’ Donuts franchise owners and their dependents are not eligible to apply, full-time or part-time Dunkin’ Donuts employees are encouraged to apply.

To apply for this program, you must be a high school senior who plans to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school in fall 2013 for the entire upcoming academic year. Furthermore, you must be a resident Kent or New Castle counties in Delaware, Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Mercer or Salem counties in New Jersey, or Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton or Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania. Finally, applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0/4.0 scale (or the equivalent).

The New Jersey School Building and Grounds Association seeks to assist students in continuing their education by offering scholarships to students pursuing an Associates or a Bachelor’s degree. Graduating High School seniors are eligible to apply for a scholarship. A total of $5,000.00 has been budgeted for the 2013 Scholarship Program for up to five individuals based on the selection criteria. $1,000 AWARD: Tzu Chi Scholars is a scholarship program funded by Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation USA to recognize and provide financial assistance to outstanding college-bound high school graduates. Tzu Chi Scholars are selected on the basis of their financial need, academic achievement, and community involvement. The National Coalition of 100 Black Women: Southern New Jersey Chapter presents its annual scholarship application for female minority non-traditional candidates. The Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in October 2001 by the husband (Abraham) and family members of the late Janice Marie Scott (nee: Holmes) to honor her legacy as a tremendous advocate for youth and a dedicated supporter of community service within the Greater Metropolitan Area of Washington, DC.  Mrs. Scott was one of the 125 individuals who perished in Pentagon on September 11, 2001 when terrorists crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the building of the Pentagon. 2012/2013 will be the 5th year that Janice M. The South Jersey Officials Association is accepting applications for it’s 2012-2013 scholarship program. The SJOA trains and provides football officials for all games played in the Tri-County Midget Football League. To be eligible, individuals must be a senior in high school and have either been a player or cheerleader in the TCMFL. AAA South Jersey is sponsoring its annual essay contest for local high school seniors.
The winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship toward a two-year or four-year accredited educational institution. The contest is open to all high school seniors attending school in Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester or Salem counties. Entry forms are available at AAA South Jersey offices in Voorhees, Sewell, Logan Township and Millville, as well as Royal Travel in Vineland. Students can also download the entry form at www.AAA.com/scholarship. The deadline for entries to be received by AAA South Jersey is March 31.

Graduating seniors have until April 19, 2013, to submit their applications and essays to qualify for one of two (2) scholarships offered by the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation. The scholarships, each in the amount of $2,500, will be awarded to high school seniors from New Jersey who plan to further their education either at a college or university or trade/technical school.

Winners will be notified in early May and will be awarded the scholarship on Monday, May 27, 2013, during the Memorial Day Ceremony held at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial.

The Janet Logan Daily Foundation grants an annual award to one graduating high school senior from New Jersey who enrolls full-time in an accredited university or college within the United States. This scholarship rewards students from varying academic backgrounds who consistently demonstrate responsibility, motivation and positive character within and beyond the classroom.
